Aavya Pottery & Art Residency — December 10–24, 2025

Welcome to the Aavya Pottery & Art Residency — a two-week journey of creation, collaboration, and community, ending in a joyful Christmas Day Clay Market & Exhibition.

We are still a young pottery studio — small, soulful, and steadily growing — but already home to some of the nicest people and the most grounded energy in Tapovan, Rishikesh.
Aavya is not just a pottery and art studio; it’s part of a larger living ecosystem of yoga, healing, music, food, and creative connection.

This December, as the year winds down, we open our space for artists to slow their pace, get their hands muddy, and celebrate the season with art, warmth, and shared spirit.

Residency Overview

Dates: December 10 – 24, 2025 (15 days including arrival & setup)
Culmination: December 25 — Christmas Day Clay Market & Open Studio Exhibition
Location: Aavya Pottery & Art Studio, Tapovan, Rishikesh
Travel: Artists arrange their own travel to Rishikesh; Aavya’s sponsorship begins once you arrive (stay, meals, and studio access).
Total Residency Value: ₹4,500 per day
Sponsorship: Up to 100%, depending on contribution, experience, and community engagement

All selected artists receive accommodation, meals, and full studio access.
Other experiences at Aavya — such as yoga, sound healing, spa therapies, and forest meditations — are available at special discounted resident rates.

What the Residency offers

15 days of studio immersion — open access to Aavya’s pottery studio, kilns, and materials.
Accommodation & meals in our quiet, nature-surrounded campus.
Morning yoga or movement sessions to start the day with balance and clarity.
Access to other Aavya activities (sound healing, spa, and forest meditation) at resident rates.
Option to teach or assist workshops for visiting guests (70% Aavya / 30% Artist share).
Feature in Aavya’s “Clay & Consciousness” Artist Showcase and social channels.

Who can apply?

We’re hosting around 20 participants this year, across three types of creative journeys:

1. Master Artists — Full Sponsorship

For artists whose experience and practice add depth and inspiration to the collective.

You get:

Private or semi-private accommodation
All meals, studio access, and materials
Space to lead a workshop or artist talk
Full sponsorship (no fee)
Option to sell your work at the Christmas market

You contribute:

Conduct one open class or sharing session
Leave behind 2–3 works for Aavya’s permanent collection
Participate in the final exhibition

2. Artists with Partial Sponsorship

For practicing ceramic artists, teachers, and independent creators with solid skills and enthusiasm for collaboration.

You get:

Shared artist accommodation
Two meals per day
Full access to the studio and materials
Resident-rate access to all Aavya experiences
A place in the Christmas exhibition and sale

You contribute:

₹2,250/day (50% of total value)
One finished ceramic work for Aavya’s collection
Active participation in community rhythm and creative exchange

3. Creators

For individuals who may not be full-time potters but wish to live amidst artists, learn, and create — photographers, painters, musicians, writers, or those simply drawn to the world of clay and art.

You get:

Stay in dorm or shared accommodation
Access to the studio and creative environment
Chance to learn alongside skilled and master artists during the residency
Access to Aavya’s yoga, sound, and spa offerings at resident rates
Option to participate in the Christmas exhibition

Pricing:
Creators join at Aavya’s regular accommodation rates, but those staying for the full 15 days and actively engaging with the residency receive special discounts.

This category is perfect for those who want to immerse in the creative atmosphere, observe, assist, or collaborate — and learn directly from working artists.

How to apply?

Apply online — submit your portfolio (3–5 images), artist statement, and links (of your work)
Indicate whether you’d like to be considered for full or partial sponsorship (or as a Creator).
Selected participants will be contacted for a short conversation before confirmation.
